More than 800 distinct guests from various organisations attended SOBA 2017 Awards Night at Connexion@Nexus, Bangsar South City on January 16, 2018. The annual SOBA pays tribute to SMEs striving to carve a niche for themselves in the business world and aspire to inspire Malaysian enterprises towards excellence and outstanding achievements. This Year’s event was graced by the presence of the International Trade and Industry Minister, Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan as the guest of honour.
During the eight edition of the award ceremony, forerunners of various industries were given much-deserved validation for their achievements and contribution in inculcating the culture of excellence in their respective organisations and industries. The winners are selected by a panel of judges made up of representatives from various industry trade associations. The President of Lexis Hotel Group, Miss Mandy Chew cliched the Special Mention Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award and emerged as a winner for one of the top awards given out at the momentous event. She received the award in person from the hands of Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai and the Chairman, Managing Director and CEO or Star Media Group.
